Your gift isn’t just a donation.
It’s hope in action.
There are many meaningful ways to support the work of the SMA Healthcare Foundation. One-time gifts, recurring donations, and planned giving all help make a lasting impact. Some options may offer tax benefits. Check with your financial advisor to see what’s right for you.
How You Can Contribute
You can contribute in the way that’s most meaningful to you.
Through a direct donation, ongoing support, or by including the Foundation in your long-term plans.
Individual Giving
A one-time donation helps provide critical mental health and substance use disorder recovery across Florida offering hope, healing, and a stronger community. Your support fuels life-changing services like crisis intervention, treatment for women and families, and mental health education programs.
Monthly Giving
Joining our Be a GEM (Give Every Month) program or enrolling in our Round Up option provides consistent, meaningful support for mental health and recovery services when communities need it most. These easy, ongoing contributions create lasting impact, one month and one purchase at a time.
Leadership Giving
Leadership Giving includes impactful contributions such as appreciated stock, real property, pledges, donor-advised funds, charitable trusts, and more.
These major gifts help shape the future of mental health and recovery services across Florida and often require direct coordination with our team.
Legacy Giving
Leave a lasting impact by including us in your estate plans. Donors who make a legacy gift become members of the James Foster Heritage Society. These meaningful gifts require coordination with our team and reflect a powerful commitment to future generations of mental health and recovery care.
Memorial Giving
Memorial giving allows you to celebrate or remember a loved one by making a meaningful contribution to the Foundation. Your donation honors their legacy while supporting vital mental health and recovery services across Florida.
Corporate Partnerships
Corporate Partnerships through our SMArt Partners program offer businesses the opportunity to support critical mental health and recovery initiatives while gaining meaningful community visibility. These partnerships require direct collaboration with our team to tailor alignment and impact.
Jay’s Hope Fund
Jay’s Hope Fund supports critical mental health education and awareness initiatives in our community. The fund makes the mental health campaign possible by providing resources, real stories, and tools to foster understanding and encourage conversation.
Jay’s Hope Fund also supports the “Who is Jay?” annual Mental Health Symposium that focuses on mental health and suicide prevention. Held in memory of Jay Ashby, it brings together speakers, advocates, and community members to reduce stigma, share resources, and promote hope and healing.
Kelly Scholarship Fund
The Larry and Joan Kelly Scholarship Fund is used to provide scholarships annually across SMA service area to students who are starting or furthering their career in healthcare.
Mr. Kelly was instrumental in helping with the initial discussions between the Foundation and Michelle and Vince Carter for the capital campaign that built the Vince Carter Sanctuary, which now houses WARM. Mrs. Kelly was a long-time volunteer with the WARM program, where she loved the children and shared with clients many stories of her career as a nurse.
Donor bill of rights
The Donor Bill of Rights outlines the ethical standards and expectations for the treatment of our valued supporters. It ensures transparency, accountability, and respect, empowering donors to make informed decisions and feel confident in their contributions to the SMA Healthcare Foundation’s mission.
