The SMA Healthcare Foundation is a single-purpose foundation existing to support SMA Healthcare. We believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate mental health and substance use disorder services.

Our mission is simple: To foster relationships to increase community awareness and support for services provided by SMA Healthcare.

We are proud to be the bridge between passionate donors and the impactful care SMA Healthcare delivers every day across our communities.

Join us for the 10th-Annual Who is Jay? Mental Health Symposium, a full-day event dedicated to mental health awareness, education, and suicide prevention. This symposium offers keynote speakers, breakout sessions, and community resources to inspire hope and healing. It’s an opportunity to connect, learn, and support mental wellness in our community.

  • 5,414 clients attended prevention programs

Quarterly Donor Spotlight

Hyatt and Cici Brown generously donated $500,000 to the Foundation in 2024 for the new West Volusia outpatient clinic in DeLand.

Hyatt and Cici have proudly supported SMA for many years, and they believe deeply in the organization’s mission and the difference it makes in people’s lives. We thank them for their continued support.

Programs

Jay’s Hope Fund

Jay’s Hope Fund advances vital mental health education and awareness efforts throughout our community. By providing resources, sharing personal stories, and offering practical tools, the fund helps deepen understanding and spark meaningful conversations.

It also plays a key role in supporting the annual “Who is Jay?” Mental Health Symposium, dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention. Held in honor of Jay Ashby, the event brings together speakers, advocates, and community members to break down stigma, connect people with resources, and inspire hope and healing.

Foster Heritage Society

The James Foster Heritage Society was established in honor of our founder, James Foster, and his contributions to the Foundation.
